The Cellar Door, Claims the Prize for July

Congratulations to Cellar Door, Limerick’s newest, unique Coffee House & Vintage Clothing store, located on Foxes Bow, set in the quirky tunnels underneath The Blind Pig. Cellar Door opened for business in March this year and is owned and run by Limerick native Maeve O’Donovan and English born Abigail Hibbert, both of whom are pictured above being presented with the Tidy Towns award by Maura O’Neill from Tidy Towns.

Maura says “Foxes Bow itself has been rejuvenated and fully pedestrianised in recent years and Cellar Door is a perfect addition to its vibrant arty feel, particularly now with the “Particles of Waves” installation in place there as part of Limerick City of Culture.

Cellar Door’s charm lies past its pretty well maintained entrance when you walk down to the cellar below, which immediately gives a wonderfully relaxed welcoming ambience. The fact that their fit-out is predominantly rustic furniture (all of which is for sale) and they also sell vintage clothing is also very much in keeping with the Tidy Towns ethos of recycling and re-using”. Cellar Door is well worth a visit for its excellent, coffee and food and its regular live music sessions. For more information contact the girls at cellardoorlimerick@gmail.com, follow them on Facebook or Twitter or simply drop in.
