To all Limerick City Tidy Towns Volunteers
Action is about to start on the Tiny Forest project in which we are partnering with Stryker at Raheen Industrial Estate. On Tuesday and Wednesday next, the 14th and 15th December, preparation work will be done on the site. This will involve firstly, laying cardboard in a marked out area and secondly, covering this with a layer of bark mulch. The forest will cover an area of 500sq m so many hands will be needed to help get this job done. Stryker have about 10 volunteers and I know several of our members are keen to get stuck in to this exciting and important climate project.
Work will start on site on both days at 10.00am and will finish at 4.00pm
If you are free for any part of those times and would like to volunteer please contact me by email at annomalley32@gmail.com or on our WhatsApp page giving an indication of the time you can join the work party.
To comply with site security there are a couple of formalities:-
1. We need your email address so that we can send you a Stryker Health Screening form in advance. (A requirement for everybody visiting the company’s premises)
2 If you are driving and need parking please add your car registration to your offer to help.
There are two buses that go to Raheen. One is the number 301 (every 20 minutes) which leaves from Patrick St. with a stop on upper O’Connell St. and a stop near the bus station on Hyde Road.
The second is the number 305 from Debenhams.
For both buses Raheen Church is the stop with Stryker being a 5/7 mins walk away. Enter the Industrial Park at the roundabout, turn right (Analogue in front) and follow the road around to the left. Stryker will be on your right.
If neither of these options work for you let us know and we will try to fix you up with a lift.
Finally this is an outdoor event so please come with suitable clothing and footwear for the elements.
Hope to see you there!
Ann O’Malley
