We think everyone will agree that The Spitjack has been a fabulous addition to the hospitality offering in Limerick City, not only because of the quality of its food and service, but also for its appearance, particularly as it occupies such a prominent unit at the corner of Henry Street and Bedford Row, which had been vacant for many years prior to being occupied by The Spitjack. The restaurant’s signage and paintwork is always impeccable and the external dining area with its attractive floral arrangements has helped to attract more footfall and rejuvenate this pedestrianised street in the heart of the city centre.

The Spitjack Rotisserie Brasserie first opened in Cork in 2017 by husband and wife team, Richard and Laura Gavin, with the Limerick branch opening in 2020, despite being delayed due to the Covid lockdown. After years working in high end hospitality across Europe, the couple wanted to open a restaurant that served only the highest quality local produce, expertly prepared, with exceptionally high service standards and the most beautiful dining spaces. They recognised the quality and high standard of Irish meat and wanted to focus their restaurants on this, specifically the amazing possibility of Rotisserie Cooking. The Spitjack Limerick offers dining over two floors, with an open kitchen on the ground floor, a full cocktail bar on the lower floor and the beautiful Bedford Room for private dining, The Spitjack Limerick is equipped for all occasions and can be contacted via their website www.thespitjack.com, by email on limerick@thespitjack.com, or by phone on 061 781996.

The Spitjack is our third winner for 2024 and will be in with a chance to be our Overall Winner for 2024 at next year’s annual event, along with the Adapt Shop on Parnell Street, who won the January-February award and Thompsons Funeral Home who won in March-April.
